Nansen Stick Harness - Nonstop Dogwear

If dogs have to pull a constant load such as a sled or other weights with a low pull point, then the Nansen Stick Harness is the right choice. This harness minimizes the pressure on the back and hips.
The harness was developed together with multiple Iditarod champion Dallas Seavey. Many mushers had the same problem: the rearmost dogs were exposed to hip and back problems. Compared to the Nansen Nome, the Nansen Stick reduces the strain on the dog's rear end. By moving the Nansen Stick Harness up and down behind the dog's hips while pulling the sled or pulka in the terrain, which relieves the strain on the dog's back and hips. Your dog has a better pulling position and can use his energy better. The stick is held in position by an elastic back piece. The musher can also observe the dog's movements in the dark through a reflective loop on the neck.
The available half sizes have the same back length as the full size, but a different neck circumference. The half sizes are identified by a red hanging loop, the full sizes by a blue hanging loop. The back strap length on this harness varies from size to size, although the overall length of the harness remains the same regardless of size. The materials overlap without hard edges thanks to the inner padding. The dog is also not bothered by seams as they all have their smooth side towards the dog's body. For your dog's safety, all harnesses have integrated 3M reflective materials. The Nansen Stick Harness has Hypalon reinforcements on stressed joints.

The half sizes always have a wider neck. For example, harnesses 4 and 4.5 have the same length dimensions, but with 4.5 the neck is wider.
